The nomina in the stamps on Pascual 1 and Oberaden 74 amphorae: a contribution to the study of wine amphorae production in the north-east of Hispania Citerior in the Augustan Age

Ramón Járrega Domínguez

This paper examines the role of nomina in the stamps on Pascual 1 and Oberaden 74 amphorae produced along the Catalonian coast (former province of Hispania Citerior) under the reign of Augustus. Although the assemblage is small, the nomina refer to the proprietors of the figlinae (and also possibly the fundi) and their relationship to the founding of the Colony of Barcino (present Barcelona) which boosted the emergence of Laietan and Tarraconensian wine in the years around the turn of the Era.
