New human figures on Ilergete ceramic. El Tossal del Castell de la Ràpita (La Noguera, Lleida)

Figurative painting was commonly used by Iberian painters to decorate vessels since the end of the 3rd century BC. In the framework of an elite in the process of self-assertion and Romanisation, these figurative representations legitimise a new political project. The aim of this article is to contribute knowledge regarding these decors in the territories of the north of the Ebro, specifically in the area of influence of the ancient Ilerda, by presenting new unknown fragments.
